Athletes foot is a common condition that can seem to linger on if not treated properly.
It is caused by a fungus and can cause intense itching and cracks between the toes.
It can spread to other parts of the body including hands, toenails and groin.
Treatment is best with an anti fungal cream for the skin, and if old shoes or trainers can't be thrown away they should be sprayed with Daktarin Spray to kill the spores on a daily basis.
Clean socks should be worn daily, and feet thoroughly dried after washing and fresh towels used daily to dry them.
Treatment should be continued for at least 14 days after all symptoms have disappeared.
